Kia Ora,
Iām Connor Aislabie
I am a Passionate architectural graduate based in Rotorua with 2 years of industry experience in 3D visualisation and architectural design. I'm focused on honing my skills in construction documentation and BIM.
At the root of my passion for architecture is storytelling and attention to detail. I typically express this through my architectural visualisations, physical models and my devotion for construction detailing. These aspects of my work are of particular interest to me as they help establish strong connections to potential clients and help them step into my process of designing.

- Managed three small projects and closely assisted on over ten medium to large commercial & residential projects. Mainly focusing on modernizing existing buildings and helping them meet new H1 standards.
- Led H1 standard calculations for a brand new accommodation lodge in Rotorua (over 300 sqm), ensuring compliance with industry regulations before its construction early next year.
- Currently an architectural graduate/3D visualiser at Spectrum Architects in Rotorua. I am hungry to develop my construction documentation skills and client relations.
I get excited about opportunities to collaborate with creative professionals who prioritize attention to detail to craft innovative, healthy, and warm design solutions within the architectural industry.
My approach to designing architecture is through storytelling and detail.
Story telling is crucial tool as it not only enables ideas to be conveyed but it helps encompass a variety of social and political factors, whether these ideas are cultural, historical, or even environmental. The art of storytelling allows architects to let the audience step into their world and perceive the architecture not only as a building but an instrument of change.

I started my Architecture journey in 2016 when I enrolled for my first year of tertiary education at The University of Auckland School of Architecture. Since then, I graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor of Architecture Studies and decided I wanted to take my talents to Victoria University of Wellington. Through this transfer, I furthered my studies with a Master of Architecture (Prof) which I since successfully completed in 2021.
